Joint MGLA/BDA Presentation: Designing a Network Package
At this special joint meeting of MGLA and BDA, we will get two very different perspectives on what goes into designing a network package, from promotional plan through graphic design, execution, and delivery.
Leading entertainment and design company Imaginary Forces (IF) completed a re-design of USA Network, which reinforced the network's new humanity-based position and officially launched on July 8, 2005. USA is known for featuring off-network television shows, original series and feature movies, sports events, and broadcast versions of blockbuster films.
Collaborating with USA VP, Brand Creative Lorenzo de Guttadauro and SVP, Marketing and Brand Strategy Chris McCumber, Imaginary Forces developed a live-action network package that represented the new USA Network tagline "Characters Welcome." IF Director/Creative Director Brian Mah and Executive Producer Anita Olan spearheaded the effort in creating an on-air identity that unified the look of the whole network and visually embodied USA's commitment to a character-driven identity.
Providing an interesting contrast, NBC's in-house department created their latest package. Hear about the differing concerns of national network, who has to be concerned with appealing to a wider audience than a focused cable network, while still establishing a clear brand identity.
This meeting will be Wednesday, 7-9 PM, in Room 306AB at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It will start as soon as the exhibit floor closes. Thanks to DV Expo, we can offer free exhibit passes to the show ($75 value), plus discounts on their other conference and certification programs.
